SEAT will manufacture recyclable vehicles
SEAT is the first car-maker in Spain that has surpassed with success the preliminary evaluation granted by the Spanish authority for the endorsement of recycled. This signifies that the company has green light to certify that the future models that design and produce they will be recyclable in a 95%, according to what dictates the European Board of director's 2005/64/CE on recycled of vehicles. SEAT advances thus a year to the European regulations that will begin to be applied with obligatory character in December of 2008 for the new models.
The delivery of the certification has taken place today, in an act celebrated in the Technical Center of SEAT in Martorell, where the vice president of Investigation and Development (I + D) of the company, Frank Bekemeier, has received the Certificate according to the Annex IV of it cited Board of directors of recycled, of hands of the general deputy director of Quality and Industrial Security of the Department of Industry, Tourism and Commerce, Antonio Muñoz.
The chief of I + D of SEAT has shown their satisfaction by the obtaining of this certificate that "he shows our commitment of respect and protection of the environment, utilizing the modernist techniques than permitting to carry out the process of design and production of vehicles with the most minimum impact on the environment."
The certificate is the result of the evaluation carried out to SEAT by the Foundation for the Promotion of the Industrial Innovation, official agency appointed by the Department of Industry, Tourism and Commerce, in the audit carried out to the installations and the processes of SEAT.
After the act of delivery, a delegation of representatives of the Department of Industry, Tourism and Commerce, accompanied by members of SEAT, has visited the installations of the Technical Center, the plant of Martorell and the Development Prototypes Center to know closely the high standard of quality that govern the processes of design and production.
The obtaining of this certificate is a clear sample of the commitment of SEAT with all those actions that contribute to preserve the environment, that themselves concrete also in other measures as the control of emissions of CO2, through the incorporation of the most innovative technology in their models.
In this sense, SEAT presents these days in the Parlor of the Car of Frankfurt the Ibiza ECOMOTIVE, an ecological version of the most symbolic model of the mark that, equipped with a motor 1, 4 TDI of 80 CV of power, and with a medium consumption of 3.8 liters to the 100 kilometers, situates the emissions of CO2 under the 100 km. Not in vain, the Spanish firm is the one that shows off the average of emissions of CO2 more drop of the Group Volkswagen (149gr/km in 2006).
